Beat Talk: New Interview with Mono Bagends about GET FLY SUMMER
Mono Bagends talks to us here at the Beat Yard about his beat choices on his latest EP GET FLY SUMMER along with answering questions about his clothing line. Read all about what he had to say here......
The Beat Yard: Hey what's up Mono Bagends?
Mono Bagends: Life is great and full of blessings. Just trying to enjoy everyday and make God proud of me.
The Beat Yard: How hot is it in New York right now?
Mono Bagends: In the 90's or high 80's
The Beat Yard: Lets talk about the Beats on your latest project "Get Fly Summer", how is the production on this EP?
Mono Bagends: It's dope...every track is a banger. Mostly fast paced club music.
The Beat Yard: What producers did you work with for the project?
Mono Bagends: D-Sharp, T-Weezy, Roc1, Luis Hazlip Jr and Sho-Down.
The Beat Yard: What would you say the best beat on the EP is?
Mono Bagends: Right Now and Get Sexy For Me are my favorites but all of them are cool.
The Beat Yard: Would you say that you have a good ear for beats?
Mono Bagends: Exceptional....its something I take pride in.
The Beat Yard: Do you have a particular method for selecting the tracks you end up using?
Mono Bagends: Not really. Most of the time I'm not looking for anything in particular...when producers ask me I tell them I'll know when I hear it. They will play me a bunch of tracks and I pick out what I want.
The Beat Yard: Is the clothing line, Get Fly Summer a reflection of the actual EP?
Mono Bagends: Yes in a way. It wasn't planned that way but I had all these summer time feel good fun songs and the clothing line opportunity fell into my lap so it made sense to do it. I hooked up with Merch Direct to make the clothing line happen.
The Beat Yard: What makes the Get Fly Summer apparel so fly?
Mono Bagends: Its cool looking tanks and t-shirts. It represents that you are enjoying your summer and making the most out of it. That's what everyone wants to do for the summer....they want to GET FLY.
The Beat Yard: Where can viewers check out the apparel?
Mono Bagends: www.monobagends.com For a limited time if you purchase a tank top or t-shirt you receive the EP complimentary.

Check out our latest interview with Mono Bagends! In this interview the New York stationed rapper talks about this beat choices, his latest single "Get Sexy For Me" and a whole lot more! Read all about it here.
The Beat Yard: How has everything been going sense the last time we've talked to you Mono Bagends? What's new?
Mono Bagends: Everything is good...taking one day at a time and trying to stay positive.
The Beat Yard: Speaking of "new", you have a hot new record out called "Get Sexy For Me", how is that record?
Mono Bagends: It's a r&b/rap type record that is very good for radio. I also can see people getting freaky to it in the clubs. It's a good record for a couple to get down to.
The Beat Yard: Who did the beat for this record?
Mono Bagends: D-Sharp
The Beat Yard: Have you worked with this producer before?
Mono Bagends: We have done two songs together..
The Beat Yard: Do you plan on working with this producer in the future?
Mono Bagends: I'm open to it but I do not have any immediate plans to do so....we just spoke the other day about a show in North Carolina for me to do so we work on other things as well
The Beat Yard: What other producers have you been getting at recently for production?
Mono Bagends: I have been dealing with a few cats. I like to keep everything on the hush till songs are released...I'm superstitious like that.
The Beat Yard: Are you in the market for more beats right now? If so, how can producers get at you?
Mono Bagends: I'm always looking for that fire...they can hit me up on twitter, facebook or e-mail me at bagendsrecords@gmail.com
The Beat Yard: What producers are do you think are hot in 2014?
Mono Bagends: I'm not sure to be honest...I'm not that big on big named producers...I more look for that underground cat to come up with.
The Beat Yard: What is one of the hottest beats you've heard recently?
Mono Bagends: I like the foreigner beat from the Fabolous mixtape...BK All day!!!
The Beat Yard: What type of beats can we expect to hear Mono Bagends on in the future?
Mono Bagends: I'm very versatile...producers ask me all the time what I'm looking for and the only answer I can give is "I'll know when I hear it".

Beat Talk: Interview with Mono Bagends (talks about his NEW single "You Drive Me Crazy")
The Beat Yard recently got in touch with rising New York based recording artist Mono Bagends for another one on one "Beat Talk" interview. This time around Mono Bagends has a new single to promote called "You Drive Me Crazy" featuring singer Mela Bela, with D-Animal behind the boards. Read the interview below to find out what Mono Bagends has to say about his new soon to be hit record!
The Beat Yard: What have you been up to Mono Bagends sense the last time we've spoke?
Mono Bagends: Working on getting this music all over the world...been recording and mostly doing interviews.
The Beat Yard: For those that haven't heard it yet, how would you describe your latest single... "You Drive Me Crazy"?
Mono Bagends: Its a pop/dance type of song..fast paced...a club banger...it's about a sour relationship. It has a strong hook sung by Mela Bela.
The Beat Yard: What words would you use to define the beat?
Mono Bagends: It's hot..its fast paced dance type of beat...very different from my previous records.
The Beat Yard: This is a hot track, I hear that you reached out to D-Animal for this track, how did you hook up with him?
Mono Bagends: I reached out to the company that shops his material...we made it happen.
The Beat Yard: Do you plan on working with D-Animal again in the future?
Mono Bagends: We already have....I just recording a second song using his beats.
The Beat Yard: Do you know of any artists that D-Animal has worked with prior to working with you?
Mono Bagends: E-40, Paul Wall and LL Cool J to name a few.
The Beat Yard: In a previous interview you said you hopped to one day rhyme over a beat by Dr. Dre or Timbaland, have you added any other dream producers to that list so far?
Mono Bagends: Not really...I don't get caught up in a producers name...if it's hot I'll rock out with it. At this point, dream producers isn't my focus point.
The Beat Yard: Have you ever considered getting into producing yourself, or at least producing your own records?
Mono Bagends: Yes I have...I co-produce all my records...I don't make the beats but I co-produce the records...a lot of people think a beat maker and a producer are the same things but they are not.
The Beat Yard: You are the owner of the independent label Bagends Records, and I know pushing your music first is a priority at this stage, but have you considered signing any other artists or even hiring an in-house production staff?
Mono Bagends: I have considered both of those things. I have some people in mind but I need to get my project off and running first. I would be looking for a female singer before a rapper....too many headaches with rappers.
The Beat Yard: What else would you like to add, anything else you would like to speak on?
Mono Bagends: I want to thank you for the interview and give a shout out to all my fans and everyone who has been supporting the movement. You can check out my career and music at the following sites.

Beat Talk: Mono Bagends
Mono Bagends has been burning up the Internet, and The Streets with his banging hot new single and Youtube Video "On Fire", and while Mono Bagends is blazing speakers everywhere across the nation The Beat Yard decides to get in touch with the rising artist and talk to him about "beats" while he's still hot!
The Beat Yard: What is your process for selecting beats?
The Beat Yard: Do you like to be in the studio with the producer or would you rather them send you beats and you work on them at your own pace?
The Beat Yard: How would you describe yourself as an artist?
Mono Bagends: Unique...I have a different style. I truly do not sound like anyone else. I've been nominated at Underground Music Awards for Most Original Solo Artist so there is some merit behind my statement.
Mono Bagends: Unique...I have a different style. I truly do not sound like anyone else. I've been nominated at Underground Music Awards for Most Original Solo Artist so there is some merit behind my statement.
The Beat Yard: What type
of beats bring out the best in what you do?
Mono Bagends: It's
hard to say..I am versatile. I don't look for anything in-particular
but I know what I want when I hear it. I do like high energy
tracks....fast paced..but it doesn't have to be those type of beats. Basically, when I hear a beat I know whether I want to rock out over it.
The Beat Yard: For those
that haven't heard the single yet, how would you describe the beat to your
latest single "On Fire"?
Mono Bagends: It
is simply hot....hard to describe in words...when you hear it it just
gives you that good feeling...you want to hear more. If I needed to pick
one word it would be inspiring. The chorus is ridiculous and the flow
and lyrics are monsters. I am very proud of it.
The Beat Yard: What
producers have you worked with?
Mono Bagends: Luxxury Music did "On Fire". I have also worked with T-Weezy, DR Period, D-Sharp and D-Animal.
The Beat Yard: What
producers would you like to work with in the future?
Mono Bagends: Dr.
Dre has to be number one. He is so talented, I would love to see what I
could create with his guidance. Timbaland has always been someone I
wanted to work with also. I feel that I could really ride his beats.
The Beat Yard: Do you
ever buy beats from up and coming beatmakers?
Mono Bagends: Of Course. Some of the better beats I have
gotten are from up and comers. My boy T-Weezy is sick. I don't care what
your name is...if it's hot...it's hot and we can rock out.
The Beat Yard: What is your process for selecting beats?
Mono Bagends: I
don't have a step by step process. Sometimes producers send them to me
via e-mail, sometimes they are pre-made and I hear them right in the
studio and sometimes we create them right there in the moment around my
flow and concept.
The Beat Yard: Who are
your top 5 favorite producers of all time?
Mono Bagends: DR. Dre, Timbaland, Manny Fresh, Kanye West and Scott Storch.
The Beat Yard: Do you like to be in the studio with the producer or would you rather them send you beats and you work on them at your own pace?
Mono Bagends: I like working at my own pace..I don't mind producer feedback but I prefer to initially create it myself.
The Beat Yard: Is there
any last minute things you would like to say, or anything else you would like
to plug?
Mono Bagends: Absolutely.
Everyone should check out my video "On Fire" on you tube (link
below)....The visual brings the song to life. A man overcoming his
struggles to fulfill his destiny. Here are other links where you can
follow my career and hear great music.
